Sketches in Thyme - 100% Adorable

Image
Hello Everyone, This month at Sketches in Thyme we were able to choose our own sketch to work with. I decided to create my own. Here it is... I have used some photos of Brayden at 4 weeks and 4 days old. To complete this layout I used the Simple Stories 24/Seven collection. I just adore Simple Stories...their collections are always so easy to work with. I used a Kaisercraft Clear stamp and some Kaisercraft Bark ink to create the background. I revitalised my iTop tool to create the two brads featured on this page. I am really pleased with how this layout turned out. Make sure you pop over to Sketches in Thyme by clicking this link  to check out what the rest of the team have been creating! I have also been busy creating for Jo at Scrapbookit. There are some amazing challenge entries and the Design Team have been doing an amazing job. Make sure you head to the Scrapbookit Blog by clicking here  to see what everyone has been up to. Happ

Sketches in Thyme

After a little break from Sketches in Thyme after a very busy term at work.. today sees the April sketch released over at the Sketches in Thyme blog. Here is the sketch... I have used a gorgeous photo of my niece, Aimee. She was a little younger than she is now. Here is my take on the sketch... For this layout I have used the Kaisercraft - Fine and Sunny collection. The background is the Chirp page. I have used a bird and birdhouse from another page and some foam tape to create some dimension around the tree. I have used some parts of other pages to create the cute little embellishments, some tags and a kite.  I have used the alpha stickers from the collection to create the title. In the top right hand corner I have used some washi tape in similar colours to the rainbow. To check out what the other team members have created, head over to the Sketches in Thyme blog . I did complete the sketch for March however, I failed to post it online prior to t

Sketches in Thyme #122

Image
It is very exciting that Sketches in Thyme is up and running again. After it finishing up last year I noticed that completed layouts of my son, especially when he was a baby, had diminished.  So my task of using the sketches from the Sketches in Thyme blog to complete only photos of my son has just started again. Yay! Here is Sketch #122 As we are currently on our Summer holiday by the beach in our caravan I had to be clever with what I would take to scrapbook. I couldn't (unfortunately) take my whole collection. Actually, it would be great to have my own caravan for scrapbooking (shhh! Don't tell my hubby! :)).  Anyway, I thought Santa photos would be the easiest. Here is my take on Sketch #122. I have used the Simple Stories ~ Handmade Holiday Collection . Simple Stories would have to be one of my most favourite paper companies. All of the embellishments and tags are cut from the papers so there was no need to bring along a heap of embellishme

Two posts in one day - wow!!! I have started participating in #fmsphotoaday. The creators of this challenge give you a prompt each day with the purpose to at least once in the day stopping and reflecting on life and what goes on around us. It has been heaps of fun finding something in my days to match the prompt but also to stop and think about what is going on around me. I also see it as a record of my day/months/year and hope to use the photos in my Scrapbooking. Well that is the intention anyway. Here is the collage of the first week of #fmsphotoaday.... Enjoy your weekend. Mel x

It has been a while

5 months between posts is far too long! A lot has happened in that time...a very busy work year, a trip to Thailand (check out our blog from our trip at fieldfamilycv.blogspot.com.au), Christmas and a New Year plus lots of other bits and pieces. Probably the one constant is my creating and making. Unfortunately the busyness of life stopped me from posting it all here but head over to scrapbookitblog.blogspot.com to see what I have been up to. Speaking of Scrapbookit...today my first post for the New Year has gone live. Here is a sneak peek of the star album I have been working on... To check out my project head over to scrapbookitblog.blogspot.com. A few new things for this year...well there is only one new thing...#fmsphotoaday! I have decided to participate in the #fmsphotoaday. You can check out my photos on Facebook or Instagram. If you are not on Facebook or Instagram I will do a collage of my photos every few weeks and post them here.  I will conti
