Nearly one month........since I last posted something here. I am so slack. The last post Feb 22 was seriously the last lot of scrapbooking I had done until last Friday night. Two gorgeous ladies, Liz and Cheryl, and I got together for a wonderful night of fun and plenty of scrapping (that was once we caught up on the gossip in each others lives!)
I was very keen to complete a layout for Anna's Craft Cupboard Sketch of the Month competition. To my amazement, I actually got it complete.....well just the Kindy Glitz had to go on at home.
Very excitedly I uploaded it to the gallery and now wait and see if I am the random winner. Fingers crossed!

The layout is of my gorgeous friend, Nikki and I at the Scrapbookit 2008 Retreat. Nikki is really a true inspiration to me. Not only does she inspire me in the scrapping world but as a Mum too! Check out her new blog "Scraps of Me" - she is amazing!
Just before I head off.....keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Last week I lost my Poppy. Am heading off to the funeral, in the Hunter Valley. A great life at the age of nearly 90 but it is never easy to accept. Love you heaps Pop!

Scrap That Poetry

A few days ago I received an extremely exciting email! After applying to be part of the Scrap That Poetry Design Team, the lovely Jennifer Campbell emailed me to say that I had been accepted!! I am just so thrilled to be a member of such a wonderful blog and with a group of such talented ladies. For those of you who don't know Scrap That Poetry I recommend that you pop on over and have a look. STP provide two challenges each month that require you to use the poem to inspire your scrapbooking.....it is lots of fun! Currently, the poem is The Rock Cries out to Us by Maya Angelou and works are to be submitted by October 14th at 10am. Come Along - We Would Love YOU to Join Us!!

Back to School has definitely hit our household and we have hit the ground running! Besides going back to school we have celebrated the little fellas 6th Birthday, had my sister and her family visit from America and celebrated my nieces birthday whilst she was here......alongside another celebration for the big 6 year old. Sadly, scrapbooking has taken a back seat as I have been preparing birthday cakes!!! My boy had a pool party with a few of his friends from school the day after his birthday. I made this swimming pool cake.....probably not my most outstanding however he loved it and so did all of his little friends:) This weekend, just gone, we had yet another birthday celebration with the family. It was such a lovely day. My sister, her hubby and my two gorgeous nieces were here from America for the weekend - my boy and my eldest niece and goddaughter celebrated their birthdays together.
